Des McDonald, Ex-CEO of the company
behind the Ivy and Le Caprice, is planning to launch his two new restaurants in
London along side with Bebo Kobo, Lisa Vanderpump and other restaurant owners
in UK. Mr. McDonald was the head chef at Ivy in mid 20s and he’s up to open
four more eateries for his Brands. The Fish & Chip Shop and Q grill for almost
20 sites in London only. He had opened a Fish & chip shop back in May Last
year in North London, meanwhile his latest venture, the 150 cover, BBQ Grill
will be planned to open with a launch in Camden this week. Two Fish & Chip
Shops will open in Shoreditch, East London and Fulham, south west London, and
three new location will be picked for Q Grill, probably opening in ShoreDitch
and Soho too and the Islington site made a huge revenue about £1.5m since from
its launch.
UK Site TeleGraph Said “In addition
to working on his own brands under his company Des McDonald Restaurants Etc,
the chef-turned-restaurateur has agreed to be a consultant for the new Holborn
Dining Room brasserie on behalf of the Rosewood London hotel. However, the
former chief executive of Caprice Holdings does not consider his plans overly
ambitious for a first business venture. “I like to be busy,” he said. “I’d get
bored doing one restaurant; I’m used to doing more than one thing. This
business is an early start and a late finish so there’s lots of hours to fill
in the day.”
Mr. McDonald are planning to make his
restaurants into chains with 10 more locations each in London, before go for
bigger bet to go nationally. The toughest challenge for him to find out more
affordable site upon which they build his brand and finding a supportive bank to
finance.
