Google Now Talks with Skybox For Acquisition, Could be $1B+

Google is one of those companies, known for quick acquisition and also it had surprised us after buying the Titan Aerospace that supposed to be acquired by Facebook. Now Company looking much deeper into the Satellite world, it has closed to complete the deal with the Skybox Imaging that is a satellite company expert in recording the very deep landscape pictures and video, covering all building and land marks. Company had reveled in a conference 2014 that they would be looking into the expanding the technology by acquiring the major leader companies because by which they get the talent from the firm and could use to build new tech and skills. Google is interested to have Skybox because it would help them to enhance the Maps facility in on Android and Web Maps also.

TechCrunch posted“Currently, Google uses a mixture of sources for Google Earth, the real-world imaging component of Google Maps. Some of those images are more up to date than others, and some are years out of date. Having its own primary source of data, updated regularly, would provide a more reliable and accurate set of data that Google could potentially expand into more consumer-focused products and services.”


Companyalready had gone war with apple due to patents and it took eyeing on SkyBox, company has a separate division called Earth enterprise that is responsible for the mapping and viewing the data, that also allow enterprises to store terabytes of imagery, vector data on your own server and after rendering the data it produces the map of that area for users to views using Google Earth Desktop or Mobile Apps, or you can develop your own app with Google earth API’s, which helps you to connect with its servers.
